Tag Tag Mini Album - Mini Album Monday #3

Hi Everybody,

So I have been on this Christmas plan making 5 cards a month until December so that I have 60 Christmas cards to send out onetime without rushing to get them done.  So with Christmas on the brain I have also been thinking about gifts and mini albums.  I had the idea to make a mini that looked like a tag that would hold tags for journaling and photos.  And since I already had my Christmas papers out I chose to go with the it.

This album was made using Cereal Box chipboard for the front and back covers and 5 sheets of 11x17 white card stock (which I happen to have on hand) for the tag pages, inserts, and pulls. (You could also use 8.5x11 card stock; ask me for instructions)  I took the 11x17 card stock, scored and folded it at 7"and then flipped it around and folded back the last 3" to create the bottom border pocket.  Then I cut the whole thing at 6 1/2" wide. the remaining card stock I user for the tag insert and the pulls.

Here is my tag tag mini album.

*** Lots of photos coming***

I had such a great time making this album.  My Christmas colors for 2012 were blue and white and i wanted to keep the album with those colors only but then I came across that red and the album insisted that I use it. So my hands were tied and you know what, the album was right!  I love the pop of red in this album.

The tags and the pages will hold photo mats that will fit a full 4x6 photo.  I think it turned our great.  Thank you all for stopping by and I will see you next time for Mini album Monday.

Recycled Journal using a Hardcover Book

Hi Everybody,

I am so excited to share this project with you.  I followed a tutorial by Marianne Kensington (click here for the tutorial), A Pocketfull of Vintage, on YouTube and used the Rosewood collection from Colorbok, which I adore, and created this recycled journal using a hardcover book.  I had such a blast making this one that I am on role making more of them.  Marianne did say they can be addicting.  I am even making one for Hubs because he has 5 pages left in his current journal.

I love all the layers, brads, flowers, fussy cut elements and trinkets on this journal!

A cross stitch binding method from one of Marianne's tutorials.

I added a pocket to the front cover and created some decorative paper clips for use in the journal.

I am so proud of this journal and how it turned out!!  Thank you all so much for stopping by and seeing what's up in the studio.  A big Thanks to my sister Kenya for her input. Okay everyone, I'm out.   I will see you all next time.

Kelli

Layout Wednesday #1 - Dreams

Hi Everyone,

Today I share with you a layout.  Yes, I said layout surprising I know.  I am taking a break from the minis today, though I have plenty to show you, and sharing a layout instead.  I have been wanting to scrap this photo for a hot minute now and I just had not found the right layout or papers to use with it until now.

I love the wood grain paper from the Colorbok Homespun collection and pairing it with the blue just made this layout to me.

Here is my journaling spot...

A Prima wooden clock, Recollections crocheted lace, a doily, and 5 different blue papers from four separate Colorbok collections, a Making Memories brad, and Studio 112 sticker.

I found this antique brass latch from Home Depot and it came with five nails.  I used the Making Memories brads to attach the latch, then cut the heads off the nails and used glossy accents to attach the heads to the paper to look like I nailed the paper to the wood.

I wanted to challenge myself and use just two colors, brown and blue, for this layout.  So, I used 5 different paper stacks to complete this project.

A group of friends, hubs, my son (step-son) and I went out to lunch one Sunday afternoon after service and we ate way to much.  That comatose feeling you get after you've eaten a great meal, or the overwhelming sensation of wanting to pass out that you get is what we call "The Itis" (eye-tis).  On this day Father and son both caught the Itis at the same time and with camera in hand I couldn't help but capture this darling moment.

What I used...
~Colorbok Homespun - Wood grain paper
~Colorbok French Prep
~Colorbok Rosewood
~Colorbok Summer Sweet
~Colorbok Textured cardstock - Earthtones Cool
~Mamking Memories Brads
~Studio G Word Stickers
~Prima Wooden Timepiece
~Recollections Crocheted trim
~Antique Brass Lock and nail heads (from hardware store)

Thanks So much for stopping by and joining me for This Layout Wednesday installment.

Love you all!!

Kelli
